Materials & Craftsmanship
Every piece in the Ocean Dreaming Line is handcrafted in my Jackson Hole studio using traditional metalsmithing techniques:
Wave Rings (Wire-Formed & Hydraulic Pressed) - I hand-solder sterling silver wire or gold-filled wire into wave forms, then shape each ring using a mold and hydraulic press to capture the organic curves and movement of water.
For gold-filled wave rings, I polish and finish each piece entirely in my studio—no casting needed. The gold layer is permanently bonded to the brass core, giving you the warmth and durability of gold at an accessible price.
For gold vermeil wave rings, I send the silver wire forms to a trusted caster, then to a plater who applies 2.5 microns of 24k gold, followed by a 14k gold flash to lighten the tone and strengthen the finish. I then laser-weld and finish each piece by hand in my studio.
Lost-Wax Casting (Select Pieces) - Some designs begin as wax sculptures, carved to capture the fluid forms of the sea, then cast and finished by hand.
Fabrication & Wire Wrapping - Other pieces are built entirely by hand, shaped and soldered to create flowing, water-inspired forms.
14k Gold Vermeil - Sterling silver with 2.5 microns of 24k gold, finished with a 14k gold flash for durability and a warm, wearable tone.
Gold-Filled - A solid layer of 14k gold mechanically bonded to a brass core. More durable than vermeil, with the same golden glow. Perfect for everyday wear.
Each piece is inspected, polished, and finished in my Jackson Hole studio. I stand behind every piece with complimentary re-plating within the first 6 months for vermeil pieces.
Care Instructions
Your Ocean Dreaming piece is built to last, but a little care goes a long way:
Daily Wear:
- ✅ Safe for everyday wear, showers, and light activity
- ✅ Remove before swimming in chlorinated pools or hot tubs
- ✅ Avoid harsh chemicals (perfume, lotions, cleaning products)
Storage:
- ✅ Store in a cool, dry place (jewelry box or pouch)
- ✅ Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity
Cleaning:
- ✅ Gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth after wearing
- ✅ For deeper cleaning, use warm water and mild soap, then pat dry
Re-Plating:
- ✅ Complimentary re-plating within 6 months for Stone + Salt pieces
- ✅ Small re-plating fee after 6 months (reach out anytime!)
The Pieces
Wave Rings - Stackable bands that resemble sets rolling in. Each ring is hand-formed from silver wire, then cast to capture the organic movement of waves. Wear one for simplicity, or stack three for the full set.
