PRODUCT & MATERIALS

What materials do you use?

I work primarily in gold-filled and 14k gold vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver). Some pieces also feature 14k gold and natural gemstones. All materials are chosen for their durability, quality, and ability to be worn every day.

What's the difference between gold-filled and gold vermeil?

Gold-filled is a thick layer of solid gold bonded to a base metal (usually brass or sterling silver). It's much more durable than gold plating and won't tarnish or wear off with normal use. It's a great option for everyday jewelry.

Gold vermeil is sterling silver plated with a thick layer of gold (at least 2.5 microns). Stone + Salt vermeil uses a two-step plating process: a thick layer of 24k gold for rich, warm color, followed by a 14k gold flash for durability and scratch resistance. This makes it more durable than standard vermeil, but it will still wear over time with heavy use. I offer free re-plating within the first 6 months for vermeil pieces (you just cover return shipping). Learn more about materials here.

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Gold-filled pieces: No. Gold-filled jewelry is highly tarnish-resistant and can be worn daily without losing its shine.

Gold vermeil pieces: Over time, the gold plating may wear in high-contact areas (like the inside of a ring band). This is normal. I offer free re-plating within the first 6 months to keep your piece looking new (you just cover return shipping). After 6 months, re-plating is available for a fee.

Can I wear my jewelry in the shower, ocean, or gym?

Gold-filled: Yes. Gold-filled pieces are durable enough for everyday wear, including showers and light water exposure.

Gold vermeil: I recommend removing vermeil pieces before showering, swimming, or exercising. Prolonged exposure to water, sweat, and chemicals (like chlorine or lotions) can wear down the gold plating faster.

How do I care for my Stone + Salt piece?

Store your jewelry in a dry place (like the pouch it came in) when you're not wearing it. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions. For detailed care instructions, visit our Care & Maintenance page.

ORDERING & SHIPPING

How long will it take to receive my order?

Most in-stock pieces ship within 2-3 business days. You'll receive a tracking number via email as soon as your order ships.

Domestic shipping (U.S.): 3-5 business days via USPS Priority Mail.

Expedited shipping: Available at checkout if you need it faster.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this time. I currently ship within the United States only.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Every piece arrives in a branded pouch, ready for gifting. If you'd like a handwritten note included, just leave a message at checkout and I'll take care of it.

SIZING & FIT

How do I know my ring size?

If you already own a ring that fits well, you can measure it using an online ring size chart or take it to a local jeweler for sizing. If you're unsure, I recommend ordering a ring sizer online (they're inexpensive and reusable).

What if my ring doesn't fit?

For fabricated and wire-wrapped rings: I can resize most styles within 1-2 sizes. Email me at stoneandsaltjewelry@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll work it out. You'll just cover return shipping.

For cast rings (like the Teton collection): These pieces are currently only available in one size and cannot be resized. I'm working on expanding size options in the future. If you're unsure about fit, reach out before ordering and I'll help you decide.

Do you offer resizing?

Yes, for some pieces. Fabricated and wire-wrapped rings can often be resized within 1-2 sizes. Cast rings (like the Teton collection) are currently only available in one size and cannot be resized.

If you need a resize, email me at stoneandsaltjewelry@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery. You'll cover return shipping, and I'll resize it at no charge (if the design allows).

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

What's your return policy?

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return or exchange. Items must be unworn, undamaged, and in their original packaging.

To start a return: Email stoneandsaltjewelry@gmail.com with your order number and reason for return. I'll send you a return authorization and instructions.

Refunds: Issued to your original payment method within 5-7 business days of receiving the returned item. Original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Can I exchange my piece for a different style or size?

Yes. If you'd like to exchange your piece for a different style or size, email me at stoneandsaltjewelry@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery. You'll cover return shipping, and I'll ship the new piece to you at no additional cost (as long as the price is the same or higher).

What if my piece arrives damaged?

If your piece arrives damaged, email me at stoneandsaltjewelry@gmail.com with photos within 7 days of delivery. I'll send you a replacement or issue a full refund (including shipping). You won't need to return the damaged item.

CUSTOM & SPECIAL REQUESTS

Do you take custom orders?

Not at this time. I'm focused on building my core collection and expanding my skills. If you'd like to be notified when custom orders become available, sign up for my email list at the bottom of this page.

Can I request a piece in silver instead of gold?

I primarily work in gold and gold-filled materials because I love the warmth and durability of gold. If you have a specific request for a silver piece, email me at stoneandsaltjewelry@gmail.com and I'll let you know if it's possible.
