I work with trusted casting and plating partners to transform that hand-carved wax into sterling silver, then layer it with 24-karat gold vermeil and finish it with a 14-karat flash. Caring for Your Gold Vermeil Jewelry
Your Stone + Salt piece is crafted with a sterling silver base (925 silver), layered with 24-karat gold vermeil plating (2.5 microns thick), and finished with a 14-karat gold flash for enhanced durability and color. With proper care, this piece will maintain its beauty for years to come.
Daily Wear:
Put your jewelry on LAST—after applying makeup, perfume, lotion, and hairspray
Remove before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping
Avoid contact with harsh chemicals (chlorine, cleaning products, hand sanitizer)
Cleaning:
Gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove oils and debris
For deeper cleaning, use warm water and a drop of mild dish soap with a soft cloth
Pat dry immediately with a clean, soft cloth
Never use jewelry cleaners, polishing cloths, or ultrasonic cleaners on vermeil
Storage:
Store in the provided anti-tarnish pouch or a lined jewelry box
Keep pieces separated to prevent scratching
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity
What to Expect: Gold vermeil is a precious metal plating that will naturally wear over time with regular use. High-contact areas (like the inside of rings) may show wear first. This is normal and part of the piece's story. If your piece needs replating, contact me for refinishing services.
